Folding Mr. Lincoln is: Harry Mestyanek, Nancy Mestyanek, and Others. Others are ....... ”friends who play and sing with us from time-to-time”. At it's root, Folding Mr. Lincoln is two people who have known each other for a very long time, two people who have lived and loved a lot, two people with a huge appetite for music. Harry & Nancy are based in San Diego, California. We are an Americana / Folk / Acoustic band. Harry - vocals, guitars, mandolin, bouzouki, lap steel, & percussion. Nancy - vocals, drums, guitar, & percussion. Dave O'Connell - bass guitar & vocals. We perform original songs as well as covers. Folding Mr. Lincoln draws upon a wide range of musical influences. From established singer / songwriters such as: John Prine, Chris Smither, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Sam Bush, Shawn Colvin, Steve Earle, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Lyle Lovett, Gram Parsons, and The Subdudes. To more contemporary artists such as: Peter Mulvey, Dave Alvin, Catie Curtis, Richard Shindell, Kris Delmhorst, Dar Williams, HEM, Uncle Tupelo (Jay Farrar & Jeff Tweedy), Lucy Kaplansky, Ryan Adams, Guster, and The Weepies (Deb Talan & Steve Tannen).
