For starters, with culinary superstar chef Bradley Ogden serving as consulting chef and Executive Chef Marc Boussarie, Anthology has become one of San Diego's premier upscale dining rooms. On stage, Anthology plays host to renowned local and international musicians in Jazz, Classic Rock, Blues, Latin and World music. The venue acquired the award-winning culinary superstar Bradley Ogden to design a New American Cuisine menu where top-quality, fresh, seasonal local ingredients create stellar small plate meals. Ogden serves as the consulting chef for Anthology and has been honored with two prestigious James Beard awards; Ogden was also recently honored with "Best New Restaurant" in 2004 for his venture in Las Vegas where he partnered with the famed Caesar's Palace to open his highly acclaimed Bradley Ogden™ restaurant. From unplugged to plugged, solo to large bands, guests can be sure they will be impressed by the exciting array of local musicians and singers. Artists who have performed include: Ramsey Lewis Arturo Sandoval, Kenny Rankin, Larry Coryell, Mose Allison, Sonny Landreth, Chick Corea and Lee Ritenour. Director of Music Operations Michael Pritchard, with more than 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry, most recently as talent buyer for Humphrey's Backstage Club, has secured an impressive array of musical talent (see the artists list).
Anthology is the vision of Howard Berkson, CEO of Anthology and local real estate developer. "I grew up in Chicago where going out for a great meal paired with live music was part of the cultural experience... that's what I hope to create with Anthology," said Berkson. On the Upper Level guests enjoy indoor/outdoor spaces including the Fireside Lounge with 18 foot fireplace, outdoor Bayside Balcony and Taylor Guitars Private Dining Room. The venue also includes two state-of-the-art kitchens to accommodate both fine dining and private events. Anthology is also proud of their relationship with Taylor Guitars, a local, worldrenowned guitar manufacturer. The VIP dining room has been named in honor of this friendship.
